Register for the Lake Wyola Road Race

If you have been organizing a road race for longer than I have been alive then you must be doing something right! The Lake Wyola Road Race is in its 36th year this year and you will want to head out to Shutesbury, Massachusetts for this great race!

This scenic 4.8 mile race starts at the Lake Wyola Association Hall and runs counter clockwise around the lake on mostly tree-canopied country roads. The first half of the
course is paved with a challenging uphill climb. The second half is dirt roads with a
small bit of pavement at the finish line.

John Stifler of the Daily Hampshire Gazette noted that the, “Lake Wyola road race a community jewel” and this run taking place in Western Massachusetts on Sunday, June 12th will be a great run for runners looking to get a great run along a scenic course in.

Mackenzie’s 5K for Crohn’s Disease

Join runners from across New England for the 4th Annual Mackenzie’s 5k for Crohn’s Disease. Since our inaugural year, over 1,400 people have contributed their time, talent and treasure. To-date fundraising exceeds $60,000, the proceeds being donated to The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America to fund on-going research into treatments and a cure for this disease.

Mackenzie’s 5K for Crohn’s Disease will take place on June 18th at 9AM.

The race is run in a beautiful Cape Cod setting, past the historic New England churches and colonial homes of downtown Sandwich, one of the oldest towns in America and then along the beautiful scenic views of Shawme Pond. There is plenty of free parking at the race start location. Come and enjoy a memorable day on Olde Cape Cod with family, friends and fellow runners.

There will be awards and trophies for age and gender categories as well as a post-race party with food, games and a raffle of some incredible prizes.

Falmouth Flag Day 5K

Head on down to the beautiful Cape Cod section of Massachusetts for Flag Day and partake in the Falmouth Flag Day 5K.

The Falmouth Flag Day 5K will take place on Sunday, June 12th at 10AM. The course features a scenic out-and-back course starting and finishing near Falmouth Heights Beach,
British Beer Company and Casino Wharf FX. The first 250 who register are guaranteed a shirt and after that it will depend on size availability.

The race benefits the Falmouth Education Foundation whose mission is to support and enhance educational excellence in the Falmouth, Massachusetts, public schools by awarding annual grants for innovative programs that are outside the district’s operating budget.

9th Annual Run for Empowerment

Registration is now open for the 9th Annual Run for Empowerment which will be held on June 18, 2016 in Burlington, Vermont.

The Run for Empowerment features race distances for all runners including a 1 mile run, a 5K and a 10K option and takes runners alongside the waterfront section of Burlington.

There’s going to be great food, prizes, and free massages for participants! Runners will be running to help end domestic violence in your community.

Proceeds from the 9th Annual Run for Empowerment benefit Women Helping Battered Women. Formed in 1974, WHBW has evolved into the largest provider of domestic violence services in Vermont. In addition to providing emergency shelter and housing advocacy, WHBW offers 24-hour hotline services, legal advocacy, programs for children and many educational outreach programs. We believe that all people have the right to live without fear of abuse – sexual, physical, emotional, or financial.

New England Running Company 10 Mile Classic

Registration is now open for the New England Running Company 10 Miler and this is one race you are not going to want to miss! All proceeds from the race go to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem & Alzheimer’s Association of America, a cause near and dear to my heart as my grandmother passed away years back after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

This is the third race in the new New England Running Company/Brooks Race Series 2016! The New England Running Company/Brooks Race Series will feature some of the best road races from the North Shore and will have spectacular views of the coastline.
