Colonial Road Runners Brockton Fun Run

Last night Mrs. Running Griffin and I made our way over to Brockton, Massachusetts for the Wednesday night fun run hosted by the Colonial Road Runners.

We have done the Monday night fun runs the Colonials host in Raynham, Massachusetts before but have never ventured over to Brockton for the Wednesday night installment. The race follows the same format as the Raynham series where runners kick off at 6:30 PM and the cost for the timed fun run is just $2 per runner.

The course in Brockton was familiar to us as it takes runners through D.W. Field Park and much of the route is the same as the Paddy Kelly 10K which is held in March and is a great 10K race. The Brockton fun run is through the historic D.W. Field Park and the route for this run is 3.55 miles with a nice uphill finish that keeps you honest running up the big hill. The course is open to traffic on half of the one-way path throughout the park so there is good space for runners to tackle the course.

Last night was a great night for running and Mrs. Running Griffin and I decided to run together for the fun run. Given I did five miles yesterday morning, shaking out the legs felt good and we finished up the fun run with a time of 36:21, good for 10:14/miles.

Next week is the last running of the fun run for this summer series in Brockton so if you are free next Wednesday evening be sure to grab $2 and make your way to the starting line!
